Ar-Rihla linguistically means "the journey". The Rihla is a travel practice which originated in Middle Ages Morocco and served to connect Muslims of Morocco to the collective consciousness of the ummah across the Islamic world, thereby generating a larger sense of community. Since our establishment in 2017, our mission has been more than just showcasing the traditional Islamic garments of Morocco. We are dedicated to uniting the diverse clothing styles from various Islamic countries under a single banner, bringing style, comfort and tradition for the wider ummah.

A Message From The Owner:

There was no greater inspiration for starting Ar-Rihla other than reflecting back on the beauty of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and wanting the ummah to emulate his beauty. Umm Salamah (Radi'Allahu Anha) said, "Out of all garments, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) liked the Qamees the best." [At-Tirmidhi]. As Muslims we should aim to emulate the best of creation in every aspect of our life, not only in our character but also in our outward appearance.

After listening to a lecture by my teacher, Shaykh Saqib Iqbal, he encouraged the importance of Muslims to establish their own businesses and follow in the footsteps of Islam's greatest traders such as the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddique, Umar ibn al Khattab, Uthman ibn Affan, Abdur Rahman bin Auf (Radi'Allahu Anhum) and many others. Since then, Ar-Rihla has grown from strength to strength selling its products at retail and wholesale in over 20 countries.

I thank my parents, my wife and all of my customers for supporting this journey of bringing the elegance of Islamic clothing to wardrobes across the world.

When you wear Ar-Rihla's thobes and accessories wear them to the best of places as that is a command of Almighty Allah, "O Descendants of Adam! Adorn yourself when you go to the mosque." [Aa`raf 7:31]
